Stacked Stones

A curious set of creatures that engage each other and the human body equally. The family of forms riff off a single ring shape, both hollow and solid. Each ring serves as a receiver for another element, or an invitation for the human body. They invite interaction at a progressive scale—from arm, to hand, and finger. Each has a different pace and cadence, from a massive slug on an arm, to a swinging pendulum on the end of a brass mediator. This progressive scale operates sonically as well, from a thump to a tingle. When combined, the sculpture balances on a single point, allowing the characters to contribute to a collective performance of spinning. Stacked Stones is a sculptural experiment in playful interaction.
